Is Dalyan & Turtle Beach worth seeing by boat ?
( Turtle Beach + Mud Baths + Lycian Kings Tombs 4th century BC )
With its five-mile long stretch of golden sand Turtle beach, surrounded by salt water on one side and fresh water on the other, the Lycian Rock Tombs and the glorious Mud Baths, Dalyan remains one of the most unique corners of the Earth. Either by boat or by coach, once in the resort you will be taken further on river boats to visit the sights of Dalyan. The river boat cruises through tall reeds and maze-like passages of the Dalyan Delta and will surely remind you of Humphrey Bogarts's The African Queen. Stop over at the magnificent Rock Tombs of Caunos carved high in the cliff. Let yourself be carried back through history as your guide tells you the beguiling story of the ancient site of Caunos. And finally the Source of Youth; The Mud Baths. It's fun, it's rejuvenating and it surely is, a great chance for a hilarious snapshot!
History, Nature, Fun! All in one!
The boat will sail on sea for about 2 and a half hours one way, then you will continue to cruise on river boats. The trip from Marmaris to Dalyan is sailed on a large and steady boat. There is lots of space and different levels of decks to move around during your trip. You may stand on the top deck to enjoy the coastal views and look at the horizon during your trip. For those who prefer to stay in the shadow we offer a lower deck where you will find seating around tables. Lunch is served on board right after you arrive in Dalyan. Our lunch on board is delicious and freshly prepared. You are to choose the main course: grilled mackerel or chicken filetto. The main course is served with fried rice and green salad dressed with olive oil.
Then you will go straight into action: board the river boats to enter the delta to continue your trip to view the Lycian Kings Tombs, Dalyan town and the mud baths. Most river boats in Dalyan run on green engines to the joy of travellers and Dalyan river inhabitants, including turtles.
